I am Professor of Public Administration and Management at the Hertie School Berlin. Before joining the Hertie faculty, I was a visiting professor at the Freie Universität Berlin and a post doc at Potsdam University. I am a public administration scholar by heart and education – I hold a PhD (Dr. rer. pol.)  and a diploma in Public Administration from Potsdam University and was guest researcher at the University of Toronto and the University of Bergen. I study the relationship between politics and bureaucracy, government coordination and policy advice – in Germany, in a comparative perspective and with a focus on the European Commission.
